THE FIRST SIGNING

Thank you to everyone who took time today to come out to the Hotel Honokaa Club for Quentin’s first book signing – your company was greatly appreciated! He enjoyed seeing so many old friends and making the acquaintance of new ones. Community Matters!

Special thanks go out to Annelle and Jory for their generosity in opening up their “home” to us, as well as to all of the Tomich Ohana for their hard work: Mahalo Nui!

March 2009

IT'S DONE!

We've received advance shipment of 48 copies, with balance due arriving in Honoka'a around March 26th. Needless to say, we're pretty excited... Quentin is arranging a signing at the Hotel Honokaa Club and speaking to several local bookstores about carrying Perspectives.
Pricing has been set at $48.00 (plus shipping), and we will soon have a shopping cart set up on this site for your shopping convenience.

Christmas 2008
I don't know where November and December went, but the book is off to the Printer! Files were uploaded in mid December. A few pages popped out of "pre-flighting" that needed to have images re-scanned and re-uploaded. The proof of the content (text) and color proofs of a few selected pages are due to arrive Monday the 29th via UPS. After our final proofing is done we give the word and it goes into final production! Estimated ship date to us... January 23, 2009! We're working on setting up local consignment locations for distribution and sales, as well as a couple of online outlets. Orders can also be placed by using the "Contact Perspectives" link in the navigation panel at left. We are anticipating holding several book signings once we receive our first express shipment of books. Stay tuned!

Late October 2008
Whew. We're almost there! The text for just 2 of the legends remain to be placed. The Bibliography is in its final editing phase, and soon we can begin to outline and design the Index. We're using Adobe InDesign CS3 for almost all aspects of the design and layout. It's pretty amazing. It allows true novices to create something that looks just like a real book. Amazing!

Late September 2008
We're in the final throws of the design of Perspectives! We're waiting for the last few photo permissions to arrive and eagerly anticipate an ISBN showing up in the Inbox any day now. The Index and Bibliography are the last two major sections that need to be completed, and after that Quentin will be completing the final editing phase. After that... it's prepping for the printer!
